Event 10418 or 10419 on Sunny Island | Knowledge | Salesforce
***==Public
Description
Event 10418 (external start) or 10419 (external stop) generated by Sunny Island devices indicate that the main master sends a CAN telegram via the SysCanBus at regular intervals, which causes the extension master to either start or remain in operation.
If the device displays or logs a constantly alternating event 10419 and 10418, the communication cabling must be checked.

Corrective Measure
Please check the following steps and repair if necessary, until the event has been resolved.
- Please check if the original SMA communication cables are used.
The cables are included in the delivery. Even crimped cables can cause problems. Alternative communication cables must at least comply with the CAT5 standard and the maximum bus length must not be exceeded.
- Check the termination according to the manual.
You can use a termination resistor to check the correct resistance value. To do this, you must carry out an ohmic measurement between pin 4 and pin 5 of the termination resistor. The measurement should produce a value of 100 ohm +/- 10%. If the measured resistance is below 90 ohm or above 110 ohm, the terminator plug must be replaced.
3. Check the Multicluster Piggy-Back.
If the cable of the Piggy-Back is laid too tight, it can have a negative influence on the position of the Piggy-Back printed circuit board.
If the error message does not appear after a restart, conclude the diagnostics. Otherwise, continue with the check.
4. If the error can be narrowed down to one specific device, please replace the Multicluster Piggy-Back with one from a different device.
If the Multicluster Piggy-Back is defective, please replace the Piggy-Back. With mixed systems, ensure that the correct Piggy-Backs are used.
5. If the Multicluster Piggy-Back is not defective and the error messages continue to appear, please replace the master device with a slave device. Both devices must be parameterized again.
6. If the error message still occurs, the device is to be replaced.
